Catching Fire - Book & Film

'Catching Fire'. The 2nd book in the hunger games installment. One of my favorite book series, after watching the 1st film adaption, I was very exited for the next film. I got so exited that I have, in fact, that I have been counting down for 3 months for the date it was going to be premiered.

I must admit, after all the hype and excitement, it was definitely worth it . The actors got the emotions required put across as if they weren't playing a part, but in their natural form, the music added extra effect to the perfect sections of the film; and the ending had a perfectly timed cliffhanger to keep the audience on edge.

Having said this, sections of the book, which are fairly important, were completely missed out. For example, when Gale has been whipped at the center, there was no section at all including the mayors daughter, who gives a key medicine to keep Gale alive. Also, not a key bit, but the old head peacekeeper from district 12 who had to become an avox (tongue cut out and made a slave of the capitol) was supposed to be put into district 12's living quarters in the capitol to almost mock Katniss. This too was missed out.

The ending has to be the best bit though, the way Gale tells Katniss how he managed to get Prim and her mother out of district 12 in time, before the whole place was blown to bits. "Katniss, there is no district 12."
