Most underrated book - Day 7 of the 30 day book challenge

30 day book challenge - Day 7: Most underrated book

Once again, I did not post this yesterday because I have the excuse that my friend's birthday is today and I left her present to the last minute (as usual) so that took priority for the night.

The title - most underrated book - is a difficult one for me because I don't think that any book is underrated. For the book to be sold in a bookshop, a significant number of people must have read it; just because it's not world famous, that doesn't mean that people everywhere don't think it's good or worth a read. By underrated, I think that gives the idea that people have read it but didn't really see how good it really was. The book I have chosen has been read, as far as I'm aware, by a small number of people, however everyone I have spoken to about it has agreed that it is a wonderful book to read and lose yourself in. This book is again the first in a series and is called 'Fallen' and is written by Lauren Kate

The book is one of my favourite series along with Divergent and Harry Potter and is supposedly a teen fiction in the romance genre but there is a strong supernatural theme to it. Not the kind which involves Vampires, Werewolves, Zombies etc..But the kind in which there are people who are not initially human. The main plot (Without giving too much away) is that Luce, the main female character, arrives at a reform school and is struck by one student called Daniel who seems to hate her with every bone in his body. Despite this, Luce is convinced she knows him and there is a connection even though she has never seen him before.

The story is full of plot twists and unexpected occurrences and is different to any book I have read before. I would say it is just aimed at females based on the love - struck mind that we see in Luce, but I'm sure that males could find something they like in there.

A film adaption of the film is underway and is rumoured to be released in 2015 and with the author being there every step of the way, I'm sure that the book will have justice served with wonderful actors and amazing filming, but if you do plan on seeing the film, I strongly recommend reading the book first because if the film leave small details out, it could get confusing.
